Overview

Ayurveda is the oldest healing science in the world. Ayurveda literally means Science of Life, or Science of Longevity. Ayurveda provides treatments for physical and psychological ailments. These include herbal medicines, massages, oil treatments and body cleansing. The treatments are all-natural, and have no side effects. Further, because Ayurveda treats the root cause of the illness rather than the symptoms, it provides lasting effects rather than temporary relief. Panchakarma
Panchakarma emphasizes re-establishing balance in the body through diet, lifestyle, exercise, and body cleansing, and on the health of the mind, body, and spirit. Panchakarma, the main concept of Ayurveda is a body cleansing plan. It is known in different names such as detoxification, purification and rejuvenation. Whether one is sick or healthy, it helps to prolong life and health by removing physical impurities, bringing awareness to destructive thoughts and behaviors, and releasing old patterns. 

Kerala Ayurveda
Kerala in south India has been the traditional base for most of the Ayurvedic oil massage therapies. It has modulated many of the techniques to suit the needs of patients and to cure diseases. They are known today as the Kerala special treatments and include Abhyangam, Shirodhara, Shirovasti, Pichu, Pizhichil, Navarakkizhi, Talam etc.
